Red Thread of Fate or Red String of Fate Connects Those Who are Destined to Meet

Do you believe that every soul incarnated is destined to be with a specific another in it’s lifetime? According to the Chinese traditions, a deity known as Yuè Xià Lǎorén is responsible for marriages. One day a little boy catches Yue Lao in the moonlight, carrying a book with names and bag full of strings. On inspection, he gets to know that Yue Lao is actually the matchmaker God who attaches ends of the string to different people who are destined to marry. He takes the boy to a nearby village and shows him the girl he is bound to marry. Not believing him, the boy throws a stone at the girl and runs away. Several years later, the boy gets married to someone he has never met before. After removing her veil, the boy spots a scar above her eye. The girl reveals that years ago someone hit her with a stone. Astonished and overwhelmed the boy then embraces his newly wed wife, finally believing that she is indeed the girl with the other end of the red string of fate. Don’t confuse this...
