What Does Psychology Say About Shy Children Since Birth?

Some kids might be delighted to present themselves in front of a classroom full of students, but some students might get scared to hell when asked to speak. We all have such children near us, we see them on a daily basis.

Moreover, some of us have been shy children since birth. Psychology says a lot about us though, it explains how the human mind expands and what can be prerequisites and post requisites of having a shy child.

Reasons For Shyness In Your Child

Shy children are not as expressive as us, they lack the endurance to showcase themselves in front of everyone. In 9 out of 10 cases, children turn out to be introverts. However, if parenting is done the right way, you might turn an introverted child into an extrovert. See this to be on the right path of parenting.

If we try to look closer at the situations which cause shy children to pave their way out of a gathering, we might find few answers. Shyness can be a birthright given to the child by their parents. But it isn’t essential to believe that. Many kids have social parents, yet the parents fail to give time to their kids, resulting in them social anxiety and shyness. Observe your shy child during recess or birthday parties. If your child tries to avoid interactions, and tends to be alone, the situation can be quite alarming. In the United States, in every public school, we have a counsellor, it is best you talked to them.

Factors That Might Be The Root-cause

In young age, you can force your child to be social, for example, if he/she loves comics, you can ask the school to make something out of it. You can always find a way out. Make sure that your decisions are prompt and working for your child’s sake.

However, another case tells us that shyness might not be endured by parents, but might be given to him by his schoolmates. Every school has cool kids, or a smart kid who everyone prefers. This lack of attention might leave your child distracted and feeling unwanted.

There are certain kids in school, with whom no one wants to talk with. You need to make sure your child is performing good at his studies and at his extra-curricular activities. Click here to know how to deal with your kid having behavior problem at school.

According to research, shy children can be exposed to social anxiety and several other disorders. Some researches indicate that shy children become great business presenters and they know how to get themselves out of a business agreement they don’t want. In simple words, they know how to get out of unwanted conversations.

Bullying Is A Crime

Another factor that might be alarming is bullying. Yes, spoken highly, bullying is one of the major reasons why children are socially awkward and shy.

Socially awkward means that your child is not doing well by interacting with others. Bullying causes your child to be scared of everyone, they think of themselves as some demeaning object that is of no good.

This might result in your child hiding his fears from you or the teachers. Since you won’t know about it, there isn’t much you will be able to do about it. It is the school’s job to make sure that the kids are at ease and not disturbed in any way.

One more thing that I thought was worth mentioning is that you need to develop confidence and a strong relationship with your child. The stronger your bond with your child is, the more you can help him with his struggle.

We all have been there and we all have faced school-drama, highschool-drama. So let your child experience your knowledge and make sure they know all about you.
